Enjoy a day at leisure for further exploration of Berlin and the Christmas markets.
The Alexanderplatz Christmas market is one of the most popular to visit; here you can find traditional craft and Christmas items, and perhaps sample Bratworst, gingerbread or a warming gluhwein! Visitors can see the walk-in Christmas pyramid, decorated with over 5000 lights.
The Winter World Christmas market on Potsdamer Platz is also well worth a visit, with many handicrafts and local delicacies on offer, as well as a large open-air ice rink!
For a more Scandinavian twist, visit the Lucia Christmas market at the Kulturbrauerei (Cultural Brewery) situated in the Prezlauer Berg district of Berlin. The Christmas market here is named after Lucia, the Nordic goddess of light, and this is a popular market with those looking for a romantic atmosphere.
If you would like to visit a more nostalgic Christmas market, head to the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church at Breitscheidplatz, where you will find traditional items such as tree decorations, candles and wooden figurines.
The Gendarmenmarkt Christmas market takes place on one of the most beautiful squares in the city, and here you may find exhibitors such as woodcarvers, dressmakers and other craftspeople. (Please note that this market has an entrance charge of approximately €1.)
Entrance costs to any markets or places of interest are at additional cost.
