The city has a long history with a legacy of Roman Emona through to the Renaissance and the Art Nouveau period. After you have found your way in the city you have free time for exploring Ljublijana Christmas Market. The Ljubljana Christmas Markets is well known for its vibrancy and cheerful atmosphere with green festive decorated stalls all selling fine products for that idea Christmas gift. The locals refer to the markets as the Christmas Fair or ‘the merry December in the Old town’ and they offer countless food and drink stalls offering mulled wine, tea, liqueurs and various grilled dishes for some food on the go or to sit and enjoy while watching passing people view the markets. The Christmas Fair offers lots of different accessories including a good choice of headwear, gloves and scarfs to keep you warm and local Slovenian designers have some ‘original’ designs to enjoy or you can sample and purchase local honey’s schnapps and confections.
