Every year, villages and towns along the Rhine Valley are illuminated by a series of spectacular ‘Rhine in Flames’ festivals. Throughout the summer, the Rhine lights up as Europe’s biggest parade of illuminated ships sail along its waters. The river valley basks in the glow of thousands of red Bengal lights and a kaleidoscope of colours fill the night’s sky as the spectacular hilltop firework displays welcome the flotilla. Join us as we enjoy the Rhine in Flames Festival. Enjoy the spectacle in Koblenz or Oberwesel, each giving you the opportunity to also visit the charming town of Cochem, in the magnificent Moselle Valley.

Tonight, we enjoy the highlight of our tour – the Rhine in Flames spectacle in Bonn. The red fluorescent Bengal Fire lights the way downstream for a fleet of more than sixty decorated and illuminated ships along a 26 kilometre stretch - the longest stretch of any Rhine In Flames event – from Linz to the city of Bonn, from where we will see the spectacle.
The small town of Cochem is dominated by the majestic Reichburg castle, perched high upon a rock. However, the town itself is just as impressive. With its pastel-coloured buildings lining the waterfront and luscious green surroundings, you’ll fall in love with the charm of Cochem.
Enjoy time at leisure to explore the town or, if you prefer, relax with a glass of the locally produced white wine.
If you are leaving the tour in Europe, you will say farewell to the group after breakfast this morning. If you joined the tour in the UK, today you will return and continue to your original joining point.
