We continue south into Spain and to Roses for a six-night stay.
Today we offer a full-day tour of the rugged coastline of the Costa Brava, with its magnificent vistas and postcard-worthy scenery. We head to Cadaqués, a former fishing village that was once only accessible by sea, and a favourite of both Picasso and Salvador Dalí.
From here, we continue via a stunning coastal route over the border into France and to the seaside resort of Collioure. This historic fishing village has a lively town centre and was a favourite haunt of the Bohemian artists.

Enjoy a full-day included excursion to the stunning Catalan capital, Barcelona. Join our optional guided sightseeing tour to see the main sights, including Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia Cathedral, the Olympic Stadium and ‘Las Ramblas’; a pedestrianised street lined with outdoor markets, shops, restaurants and cafés.
The city has a delightfully relaxed atmosphere, particularly along the Ramblas, where you can join the locals casually strolling along the tree-lined walkway, perhaps stopping to enjoy the entertainment offered by the many mime-artists and musicians. Explore the 'Barri Gotic', or Gothic Quarter, in the centre of the Old Town, where some of buildings date back to medieval and Roman times. This maze of streets and squares uncovers one delight after another!

Today, enjoy our included excursion to Figueres, the birthplace of Salvador Dalí. His influence can be seen all over Catalonia, but particularly in this pretty town. Discover more at the fascinating Dalí Theatre-Museum (entrance at additional cost). Figueres is a delight to explore with fine, old buildings huddled around cobbled, tree-lined streets. Relax in one of the many pavement cafés or tapas bars.
Travel to the Paris area for an overnight stay.
If you are leaving the tour in Europe, you will say farewell to the group after breakfast this morning. If you joined the tour in the UK, today you will return and continue to your original joining point.

If you prefer, then you can join the tour at the hotel. To do this, we will require a copy of your passport for identification purposes and you must advise us at the time of booking.
No reduction will be given if you should choose to do this.
We are unable to guarantee that the hotel will be able to meet your dietary requirements. We find that the majority of European countries do not generally cater for vegetarians and that the meal supplied may well be what everyone else is having minus the meat.
We will of course endeavour to arrange for a vegetarian meal at the hotel. We do however suggest that you advise us of your dietary requests at the time of booking and recommend that you speak to the receptionist on arrival with regard to your request.
You will stay for six nights at the 3-star Hotel Coral Platja in Roses. The hotel belongs to the Prestige Hotels chain and is situated on the seafront of Santa Margherita Beach and only two kilometres from the centre of Roses. The hotel has a lift, bar, restaurant, lounge and outdoor swimming pool.
Overnight stays in the Paris area will be in city-style hotels.
Front row seats can be reserved for $35pp (up to 6 days' duration), $55pp (7 & 8 days' duration) and $60pp (9 days' duration and over) on all European tours. This offer is only available for bookings of two or four persons on the front row and is subject to availability. In addition to this, seats on the second row can be reserved for $18pp (up to 6 days duration), $35pp (7 & 8 days duration) and $42pp (9, 10 and days duration) $50pp (12 days and over). Guaranteed front/second row seats cannot be reserved on transfer journeys to/from the interchange. Children under 15 years cannot occupy a front row seat due to French Law. Central view seats are free.
Please note: On some coaches the legroom on front seats may be slightly less than that available on other seats due to the presence of a modesty board in front.
If your tour is cancelled for any reason and front/second row seats are not available on your new tour, you will be refunded the supplement. No other compensation will be payable.
Alternatively, we can take seating requests on your booking. However, requests are not guaranteed. All seat numbers are confirmed on travel documents approximately 7-10 days prior to departure.
Transfer coaches are routed approximately 2-3 weeks before departure. The route taken depends on where passengers are booked to travel from on any particular date as to which route is taken. If you require further detailed information regarding the route to the port you can contact our Customer Service Department on 1300 811 500 two weeks before you are due to travel. With regard to the route taken by the main tour coach, this is determined by the driver.
