St. Johann and Kitzbühel
We begin the day with a visit to the charming Tyrolean market town of St Johann. Known for its beautiful baroque twin spire church, pretty town square and the local Huber Brau beer, you will have free time here before we continue to the chic resort town of Kitzbühel.
Kitzbühel is set against a spectacular backdrop of stunning Alpine scenery and combines a modern sophistication with a fairy-tale atmosphere where the multitude of bars, pavement cafes and shops blend harmoniously with cobbled streets and picturesque painted houses.
You will have free time to explore or perhaps opt to take a cable car ride up the mighty Hahnenkamm Mountain for some spectacular views of the region (extra cost, approximately €26 payable locally).Included meals : Breakfast, Dinner
Ziller Valley, Gerlos Pass & Krimml Falls
Today, our included excursion takes us through the Ziller Valley and to the picturesque town of Fugen, where we will have free time before continuing over the scenic Gerlos Pass to Krimml Falls.
These magnificent falls are widely regarded as some of the best in Europe. At 380 metres, the cascading waterfalls of Krimml create the longest free fall of water in Europe and the fifth highest in the world.
There will be time at leisure to walk alongside the lower falls. Don’t forget your brolly, as even on the sunniest days there can be quite a lot of spray!Included meals : Breakfast, Dinner
Innsbruck & Nordkettenbahn
After breakfast, we leave the hotel and travel to Innsbruck on our included excursion. The capital of the Tyrol, on the River Inn and at the foot of the Karwendel Alps, Innsbruck is the fifth largest city in Austria. This beautiful city is surrounded by stunning mountain scenery and steeped in history.
There will be free time for you to discover the old quarter with its charming arcaded streets, the famous Golden Roof, stroll along the Maria Theresien Strasse with its bustling shops or climb the Tower of the City for magnificent views of the city.
During our visit to Innsbruck, we include a trip on board the Nordkettenbahnen. You will be transported from the bustle of the city centre, high into the mountain terrain. We travel up to the Hungerburg mountain station where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the city of Innsbruck. The panorama is cloud free for an average of 350 days a year!
We then take the cable car further up the mountain to an altitude of 1905 metres above sea level enjoying the fantastic views of the Middle Inn Valley, the Stubai and Zillertal Valley Alps and the Wipptal Valley over the Italian border.
If you wish to venture even higher, you can join the cable car to the Hafelekar, the highest viewpoint at 2256-metres. A truly unforgettable excursion.Included meals : Breakfast, Dinner
